Roo and Sara

Getting children to TALK!

Learning a language should first be about communicating. About conversation. About having the confidence to TALK.

Grammar will fall in place naturally and later.

To talk one needs vocabulary and this comes through a combination of role-play, games and sharing books and making up little stories AND daily use and practice.

This, the first in a series of lessons for children introduces the characters.

The text is for the adult because I recommend that an adult always watches the programmes with the child. This enables overlearning and practice during the next few days. It also tells the child that you are interested in them and what they are learning.

This series is recommended for children from 6 years . For younger children I recommend the playlist ‘English for Very Young Children’ which features the JUMBLES characters.

There will be a new episode of ‘ROO and SARA’ every few days. Subscribe if you don’t want to miss one.
